Family Discipleship FAQ's
Family Discipleship at Metro East is all about equipping parents and guardians to guide their children in faith at home. Through resources, encouragement, and opportunities to ask questions, we help families grow together in understanding God’s Word and living out their faith daily.
Safety and Security
Your child’s safety is our top priority. At check-in, your child will receive a sticker that we place on their back, and you’ll receive a matching sticker as your “receipt” for pickup. Be sure to let us know about any allergies or special concerns, and our volunteers will ensure your child is safe and cared for. Each classroom and area around the church is equipped with high-quality video cameras, all monitored by our security team at all times, giving you peace of mind while your child learns and plays.
Health and Comfort
Our church is designed with health and comfort in mind. Age-appropriate areas are clearly separated, with the Tots Hallway for birth–Pre-K and the Student Ministry Hallway for older children. Only pre-screened volunteers are allowed in these areas without a guide, and every classroom, hallway, and door is secured, locked, and monitored by cameras. Our facilities are cleaned and sanitized multiple times each week, and we continually check toys and all areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment for every child.
Participation and Engagement
Our Family Ministry is designed to provide every child with a safe and engaging environment to learn about Jesus. Age-appropriate lessons are taught using curriculum approved by our pastors and elders, and our volunteers are equipped to guide each child thoughtfully. We aim to help kids explore their faith in ways that inspire curiosity, encourage questions, and deepen their understanding of—and desire for—Jesus.
Volunteers and Training
At Metro East, we take great care in selecting volunteers to teach and care for your children. Every volunteer is background-checked and screened by our Family Ministry staff and team. Curriculum is carefully chosen and monitored by our pastors and elders, and volunteers receive training to help them teach effectively. In addition to locked doors and camera monitoring, volunteers always serve in teams of two. Our goal is to provide both a safe environment and high-quality teaching so your family can feel confident, cared for, and supported.
