Parent-Discipleship Conference

Metro East Baptist Church

October 22-23, 2010

One of the things that drives us as a ministry is to equip parents to be the primary disciplers of their own kids.  While we provide many opportunities for that to occur in various ministry settings, we thought it'd be nice to be equipped as those called to do just that!

So, mark your calendars for our first ever Parent-Discipleship Conference.  It'll be Friday, October 22 and Saturday, October 23 with guest speaker Chad Poe from Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Chad has been our Middle School Camp Pastor the past two years at Super Summer, and has a passion for presenting the Word of God in a way that points towards the overwhelming impact of Jesus personally, socially, and globally.  Please check out his website to become more acquainted with him before he comes!

Cost is only $20 per family (which includes all conference materials, snacks, and lunch)!  There'll be more details coming soon!

Radical Fall Retreat

Westminster Woods

November 12-14, 2010

Based on David Platt's book, Radical, we will spend the weekend looking at what Scripture demands from us as disciples of Christ.  With the allure of the American Dream, we miss the call for radical discipleship from Jesus and assume he meant it for someone else.  Well, he doesn't!  The demands for radical discipleship include us!

Parents, you are more than welcome to join as well!  We'll need plenty of sponsors for this trip, and a ton to pray while we're away!  Let James and the Student Ministry Department know if you're interested TODAY!

Cost is only $40 through October 31

Multiple Child discount available:  -$10 for a second child (in the same family), -$20 for a third, fourth, fifth, twelfth.

So, if you are going to send 3 children, the cost would be $40 for the first, $30 for the second, and $20 for the third, for a grand total of $90 instead of $120.

And if you're really going to send 12 of your own kids to Fall Retreat, it'd be roughly $250 instead of $480, maybe...I think (I don't have a degree in Math).
